As you looked through the decades of memories, you realized you recognized the people in the photos. You remember them being at one of the houses you’ve recently gotten clearance to evict- not wanting to pay the new costs, and not wanting to move so easily. It was a shame, you had thought at the time, but it’s the way things go sometimes. The neighborhood was growing and expanding, and it would expand on top of all that laid in its wake.
Taking but only a moment more, you wonder to yourself where the family had chosen to go. You chose not to reminisce too much longer, as you didn’t want to stay longer in the house than what was necessary. And whatever happened to that family doesn’t concern you any more.
To that, you feel a rumbling of the structure, before hearing the front door slam in the other room. To that, you choose to leave, seeing what the abrupt noise may have been.
