In the dining room, the windows stretch tall and high, yet they don’t budge- even against all your strength. Permanently in place, they stare down at you in haunting horror- watching you as you struggle to find your way out. Though, catching you off-guard, you catch a whiff of what smells to be homemade cooking.
That’s odd you think- looking at the empty-set table. It smells familiar, nostalgic even- making you think back on your own family-playing, laughing, running about at family gatherings. You wonder what kind of gatherings were taken here, throughout its history. Of course, there will always be more- maybe the next family will bring about a great feast- if not in this house, certainly on this property. Though for now, you wouldn’t mind knocking these walls down, if it meant getting to leave finally. On to the next room, you suppose.
